Brooke Walton has ridden since the age of 5. She grew up in pony club and doing combined training.  At age 11 she met Lee Cone at a schooling show at Carolina Horse Park and he got her turned onto hunters.  He found her two great horses, Maxwell Silver and Pocket Change.  At 12 she spent a week at Ann Kursinki's training with George Morris, all thanks to Lee. At age 15 she moved to Camden, SC for an apprenticeship with Aaron Vale riding show and racehorses. As a junior she qualified for the local and national medal finals, competed successfully in the junior hunters and Jumpers with catch rides and horses of her own, rode in her first Grand Prixs on Alfredo and was even invited to Reims France, Monterrey Mexico and Caracas, Venezuela to represent the United States for Young Riders. She developed a talent for dealing with tough horses.  As her parents insisted, she attended Carson Newman College in Jefferson City Tennessee with a major in English and an Emphasis is Creative Writing while training with Kim Burnette and Dennis Mitchell of Kimberden.  During these years in Tennessee she continued to ride and show and garner much success with the horses Marquette, Steel Your Face, Junior Mint and Oliver Stone.  After a brief stint guiding whitewater rafts in Tennesse and West Virginia then galloping racehorses in Ocala Florida she found her paddock boots and returned home to start Indigo Road.  That was 2003.

Kristin Owens-Strand -Kristin is originally from the area and grew up riding and showing with Betsy and Gerald Pack on the local and southeasten A circuits.  She had some super mounts such as the fancy but tough Straight Talk who went on to win championships all over the east as well as pony finals and Silver Ending, another fancy but tough grey mare.  Kristin is soft spoken, smart and organized skills and she is a huge part of Indigo Road.

1996 Hits Ocala Circuit Reserve champion low jr jumpers with Lindsey Bledsoe's Matinee. High ribbons Small Junior Hunters with Marquette.  Champion Rgular Working hunters Chateau Elan RMI with Heads or Tails. Winner FENCE jr/ao equitation classic with Heads or Tails.   Competed in first Grand Prix(at 16) with Alfredo 15 $20,000 Conyers Spring, $25000 GP of Chateau Elan, $50,000 GP of Roanoke. Champion Junior Jumper Raleigh Spring with Prime Time. 1997 Championships in low and high Junior Jumpers HITS Ocala, Tampa, Seabrook.  Winner of Seabrook hunter classics Marquette and Steel Your Face 1998 Championships Ocala, Atlanta, Seabrook, Kentucky, Brownland with Steel Your Face and Marquette.  2nd with Marquette Kentucky Summer Hunter Classic out of 68. 1999 Hits Ocala circuit champion and reserve, 18-35 with Marquette and Steel Your Face, reserve circuit champion 18-35 equitation, winner and second of the Classic every week but the first. Circuit Champion Baby Green with Junior Mint and Tippy.  Winner of the Atl spring hunter classics wk 1 and 2, champion and reserve of division, Winner of classics and Champion and reserve at Brownland Farm.  Windy City Hunter classic with Junior Mint weeks 1 and 2 as well as champion and reserve of division with Marquette and Steel Your Face. 1999 5th place out of 52 competitors Kentucky $10,000 High Jr/ao jumper classic with Oliver Stone. 1999 Qualified and competed Marquette at Washington International and Zone 4 fourth place year end award 2001 worked for Juimmy Miranda Classic Mile Racetrack Ocala Florida starting and galloping racehorses. 2004 Baby Green Champion RMI Chateau December, CO -rider of Champion Pre Green horse Esperanza, trained Liza Edwards to a fifth in the BRHJA medal finals 2005 Reserve Champion Young Hunter Tryon June A Brooke is available for on and off site training, catch-riding, clinics and judging
